Richard Souza

Mr. Souza is serving as an IRP Tech support for the Air Force Real Property Agency (AFRPA) at the former Myrtle Beach Air Force Base in South Carolina. Mr. Souza's duties include reviewing all contractors environmental documents and providing comments to the AFRPA Base Environmental Coordinator; Preparing various environmental reports to support property transfer such as the Finding of Suitability to Transfer and the Supplement to the Environmental Baseline Survey for all environmental sites on Base; Preparing environmental reports on current conditions and past investigations of various sites in support of community redevelopment on behalf of the AFRPA; and interfacing with local contractors, community representatives, State and Federal regulators, and attending meetings with same, including BRAC Cleanup Team meetings and Restoration Advisory Board meetings.

Mr. Souza has worked as a Design Engineer with the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, New Hampshire (62-68); the Officer in Charge of Construction, Saigon RVN (68-72); Rickenbacker AFB, Ohio (74-77); Myrtle Beach AFB, (77-82). Dick was the Chief of Environmental and Contract Planning, Myrtle Beach AFB (82-92); Base Environmental Coordinator (BEC), AFRPA-Myrtle Beach (92-00); Site Manager/ BEC, AFRPA-Myrtle Beach (00-03); TN & Associates, Environmental Support Contractor- Myrtle Beach (04-06); FPM Group, IRP Tech Support- Myrtle Beach (06- present).

Mr. Souza received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University, Boston in 1966.
